Emperor Tenmu

explanation: Born as a brother of Emperor Tenchi, but Tenchi wished to give the throne to his son prince Otomo instead of Tenmu (prince Oama). So he hid in Yoshino mountains, excusing that he wishes to master Taoism. Then secretly he gathered troops and organized a putsch. After fierce battles (Jinshin war), he succeeded to eliminate Otomo and become 40th emperor. By continuing the works of Tenchi, he organized a powerful imperial court around him by using his knowledge of Taoism. He died in 686.
