explanation: Located at the top of Shrouyama hill in Matsuyama city, Matsuyama castle is one of the 12 Japanese castles which still keep the original structures. Built by Kato Yoshiakira in 1603, the castle had been occupied by Matsudaira family (kin of Shogun) from 1635 to 1868. The main donjon was struck by lightening in 1784 but rebuilt later. From the top of castle, you can admire a splendid view of Japanese Inner See.
