explanation: One of the 3 main tea ceremony schools together with Urasenke and Mushanokoji senke. The school was founded by Sen no Sosa (1619-72), the 3th son of Sotan who was a grandchild of the famous tea master, Sen no Rikyu. It claims legitimate of all the Sen schools and every successor takes the name of "Sen Sosa". Omotesenke means "outside Senke" while Urasenke, "backside Senke", referring to the position of each house in a Kyoto's street.
